Born in Germany, raised in California, Patrick found his spiritual home on Second Avenue at the Jivamuki Yoga Center in the New Yorker East Village in 1996. He moved to NYC to take the Teacher Training and to spend more time with his teachers Sharon Gannon and David Life. About tens years ago he brought the Jivamukti Yoga Method to Europe and since than Patrick has been the root of a huge and constantly growing Jivamukti Satsang all over Europe. Now he is using this public interest to promote, what really matters in the life of a Yogi: Devotion to God and the importance of Ethical Vegetarianism, Environmental Awareness and Social Responsibility. Patrick will be co-facilitating the UK Jivamukti Teacher Training with Yogeswari in October 2012.
Class description:
Asana practice is a spiritual
path centered around life-force or prana. Hanuman, the Monkey God,
is the embodiment of Prana in service of Love. Love is the most
fundamental drive of every living entity. We cannot be joyful
without satisfying our desire to love and serve. But the loving
propensity remains imperfectly fulfilled until we know who is the
Supreme beloved. So let us gather for satsang and bhakti. Bhakti
yoga gets triggered as soon as we utter a name of God with a wish
to reach him. By the continual remembrance of the Divine, every
action in our life becomes a step towards realizing our eternal
relationship with Him. And the yoga (union) concludes when nothing
but God and his love (bhakti) fill our mind. At this point, jivas
on earth experience their relationship with God for some time and
hand over their soul to God. A true devotee, like Hanuman is one
who is in this world (the world of thought) but not of it. He
dwells freed of that conditioned human curse that is seperation.
The energy of non-harm manifests as the natural momentum of such a
being. He reaches out to the weakest beings to eliminate their pain
and misery, protects the righteous, attends every gathering where
Rama's name is remembered, and becomes the link between Rama and
his devotees.
