EarthRise SoundSystem is the shared Musical vision of Producer David "Duke Mushroom" Schommer and DJ/Writer/Yogi Derek Beres..... Utilizing Duke's multi-instrumental background and worldly percussion with Derek's concepts of "Global Beat Fusion", this duo started collaborating energies to create music for movement in late 2008. 2010 saw the release of their first full length album, "The Yoga Sessions: EarthRise SoundSystem" (Yoga Organix/White Swan), which has garnered praise by Yoga Journal Magazine, MTV, Boston Globe, Yoga International, LA Yoga magazine and many others. As remixers ERSS has re-worked such talent as Vieux Farka Toure, Femi Kuti, Bombay Dub Orchestra, Sharon Gannon, Natacha Atlas, Nickodemus, Deva Premal, MC Yogi and others..

Program description: Asana Dance Company was originally a creation of Sharon Gannon and David Life, who choreographed and performed Asana-inspired dances throughout the 80's and 90's. Timothy Bish, Luis Davila, Jessica Stickler and Sandhi Gayatri Ferreira are honored to perform pieces in the style and spirit of Asana Dance Company. Timothy combines his extensive experience in modern dance, broadway, and film with his love of Yoga Asana to create consciousness inspired dance performance. Luis started free-style dancing at 16 and started his formal training at 22, studying modern ballet and jazz and musical theatre. Luis is incredibly grateful to Sharon and David for teaching him the joy of a vegan lifestyle. Jessica studied primarily classical ballet, and was a principle dancer for Central Park Ballet Company. Gayatri is a professional acrobat , aerialist and hoop dancer who has been studying with Sharon Gannon and David Life since the 90's

"Lily Variation" - Jessica Stickler will perform a variation of Lily", which was originally choreographed and danced by Sharon Gannon at Jivamukti Yoga School in 1996.

"Makyen Ghrir Allah" - Timothy Bish, Luis Davila, and Jessica Stickler present an original work of choreography. This piece is set to Earthrise Soundsystem's song of the same name.

"metamorphosis" - Sandhi Gayatri Ferreira presents an original work of choreography that takes Asana Dance into new heights.
