Anja is director of Jivamukti Yoga Berlin
(http://www.jivamuktiberlin.de) and an Advanced Certified Jivamukti
Yoga teacher.
She discovered her passion for Jivamukti Yoga
in 2000 while living in New York during a law internship. Back
then, she also met her teachers Sharon Gannon and David Life for
the first time. Anja has been practicing yoga with teachers of
various yoga styles and traveled the world to do so. But in her
heart, Anja knew right after her first Jivamukti class, where she
belongs.
Living as a Yogi means for Anja to try to balance up
the disequilibrium between herself as part of human civilization
and the world as a whole. In her classes, Anja strives to bring
emphasis to the yogic tenet that none of our doings, whether they
remain thoughts or are actually carried out, are without impact to
our surroundings. In which direction the world turns, is in the
hands of each single one of us.
The love to her life, to all
beings and to this world as a whole motivate Anja to teach yoga.
The path of yoga gives every single one of us the chance to grapple
with our inner self and to find the harmony within us that we are
longing for.
Class description: A satsangha, literally, a community connected (angha) by Truth (sat) is best cultivated through the practice of Jivamukti Yoga's Five Tenets: Scripture, Ahimsa, Meditation, Nada Yoga and Bhakti. It's not enough to practice Tenet in isolation, or just personally. It's when we come together and institute the Tenets as a community that their true transformative power is revealed. Please join Patrick Broome,Cat Alip-Douglas, Antje (Amba), anja.kuehnel Anna Ferguson, Giselle Mari, Ganesh Das and Liz Roberts for a panel discussion and Q&A focused on actual "what works" case studies from existing Jivamukti Yoga communities!
