Katelin SissonA natural athlete, Katelin grew up in Rhode Island, where physical activity was as much a part of her daily life as the ocean breeze. She ran and lifted weights and believed in the discipline of a strict exercise regime. But she began to feel something was missing, and when she found her way to Jivamukti, she realized what it was: she developed an overwhelming curiosity about the role the mind played in the physical aspect of her existence. Jivamukti deepened her understanding of the mind-body relationship and instilled an understanding of yoga not as an intermittent practice but as a lifestyle that encourages and fosters happiness and freedom for all beings.
Katelin has completed the Jivamukti 300-hour teacher training, which was taught by her Holy Teachers, Sharon Gannon and David Life, the founders of Jivamukti Yoga. And she has also completed the 800-hour Jivamukti apprenticeship under the guidance of her beloved mentor Rima Rabbat. Katelin offers infinite gratitude to Sharonji and Davidji, Rima Rabbat, Lady Ruth, Jules, Yogeswari, Monica Jaggi and Jessica Perry, all of whom continue to shower her with their wisdom, compassion and grace through their teaching. She would also like to thank the students and staff of Jivamukti, whose energy makes the satsang so special, so powerful.
