THURSDAY NIGHT MEDITATION CLASS
This Yogic Group Meditation is geared to both beginning and experienced practitioners.  Beginners benefit from detailed guidelines and helpful tools towards establishing a daily, regular meditation practice.  It provides a supportive and encouraging atmosphere for all levels, thus making it easier to stay on track with one's own daily practice and to learn how to move trough common problems and obstacles.

The session begins with chanting Sanskrit mantra that calm and purify the mind and the atmosphere.  Then, detailed directions are given on how to sit and how to relax the physical body while maintaining a state of receptivity and attention.  Once participants have settled into their seats, they are encouraged to sit still and follow the breath, while systematically  letting goof thoughts, emotions and physical sensations. This method serves to awaken the witness consciousness (sakshi) The actual silent meditation lasts 20minutes .

Following the silent meditation is a period of relaxation more chanting, two shorts Hindu Rituals (Arati, Prasad). And a forum for questions and answers.  The session closes with a reading releated to yogic of Buddhist philosophy.
